September 29 Palas to Ribadiso

We started the camino with the sun trying to make its way through the clouds, and the walk was strenuous, as we were climbing most of the morning through some beautiful forests. We stopped in a larger town (Medile) and picked up some groceries for a picnic. We found a picnic sight about 6km from our final destination and had a much deserved break. After our lunch the clouds got darker and the rain started. It was a welcomed relief to arrive at Ribadiso with accommodations still available. Some of the peregrinos who arrived a half hour later were turned away and had to walk to the next town. This is the life on El Camino. There will always be a bed, but not necessarily where you want it to be. See Pictures>>
