Sept 13, 2016 Rabacal 17km
Rained heavily at night but come 8am some blue ski appeared. Overall it was a pleasant walking day going through forestry service roads and tiny villages. Lots of switchbacks which meant for greater distances. In one section they were doing some logging and we had to scramble over logs. I tripped and ended up sliding on my butt. Julie got trapped by a nasty vine and l could see her frustration trying to get loose. Finally she did get loose but ended up with scratches on one ankle. The hillsides are lined with olive trees and along the way there was the olive oil processing plant. We arrived to a hilltop town, Alvorge and stopped for a drink. The bar owner (Victor) was so friendly and provided a hand-drawn map for a quicker route to Rabacal, our final destination. He provided a guest book for us to read and there were many happy visitors who came to his bar for drinks, food and rest before moving on. Rebacal is a very small town with two bars/restaurants (one at each end of town) and one mini market and its attraction is its museum.
