Today's trek was excellent, lengthy but not difficult, going through rolling fields and areas where sunflowers are grown. Sunflower seeds are very popular with the locals and many of the kids are spitting the shells every where. If there is an event, sunflower seeds are consumed leaving shells on the ground or event floor.
A bit cold this morning -4c.
Sunflowers and Julie enjoy this weather.
Father and daughter team...today he was in pain - a huge blister.
Today I meet a crazed cafe barista. The cafe was very busy with pilgrims and the barista was placing orders and making coffee. A girl was given her order of toast, butter and jam, and then she asked for anther butter. It was like the scene from a Seinfeld episode when they ordered from the "soup-Nazi" . This barista went a little crazy, and would not give or sell the girl another butter. "How outrageous that a pilgrim would ask for another butter! We only give one butter." (In Spanish) Then she gave the money back to the girl and told her to get out. Everyone in the cafe were in shock by the scene. I was a bit worried about by order and decided to just get a coffee.
Almost there...not! A new type of marketing.
