Oct 4, Sarria, 20km

Another beautiful and warm day, cool in the morning, but it's not too long into the trek that our jackets come off. Galicia is such a beautiful province. Many acorn, chestnuts and walnut trees line the Camino. They are ripe to pick and many of the nuts are falling from the tree. Hence many pilgrims are hit by falling nuts.

The scenery is unbelievable, so green and reminds me so much of British Columbia. And when going through the farm villages, the smell reminds me so much of Chilliwack - a very distinct farm aroma.

Curious Cow!

A very eclectic rest stop...lots of healthy food!

Sarria is not a spectacular town. For many pilgrims it is the start of their trek to Santiago de Compostela. The rule of earning a certificate of completion is that the last 100km must be done. Sarria sits at the 119km mark, hence the natural starting point for many.
