To Gijon

September 20-21
To Gijon 28km
This was the toughest trek so far, going over two hills with 400m elevation each, that took almost 8 hours. The trails were rough, going through rocky and damp terrain, and the ascents were straight up with no switchbacks. We were so happy when we found our accommodations. The host was very friendly offering us a traditional Sidra drink, served in chilled champagne glasses. It's like our cider but tastes much different.

Much to see in this city, with many historical sites and a beautiful long beach. So we stayed an extra day. Julie wanted to move on but my body needed a rest.

What an awesome university!
