Oct 3 Triacastela, 30km

This was the most difficult trek, 8km ascents, 8km more of up and down. and 14km of descents. In the middle section, just as you think the ups and downs have ended, you are greeted with another. On the last, and most difficult ascent, we are greeted by a cafe full of exhausted pilgrims. We all sat there looking at the expressions of each person reaching the top. The look of exhaustion and relief was priceless. We enjoyed a beautiful lunch and drinks.

Making our descent

Triacastela has gone through a transformation since our last visit in 2010. On the lateral road many of the old homes have been restored and some converted to Albergues, restaurants or cafes. It's become a very trendy looking village. The Albergue we stayed in is one of the home/barn converted to a beautiful home.
