Nov 28 Travel Day to Koh Samui

It was a sad day leaving Graceland Resort and Patong Beach. Its such a hip and cool place, with one down side -- its too crowded. But no surprise, given its natural beauty and many delicious foods from markets and street vendors, which attracts more visitors each year. Lots of construction going on, and I'm certain in a year there will be even more people.

We were picked up before noon and the driver took the scenic route to the airport, following the coast. So many seaside towns along the route experiencing similar growth as Phuket, with new apartments and hotels under construction.

Check in with Bangkok Airways was quick and they had a special lounge for their guests - serving speciality coffees, sandwiches and desserts. The flight to Koh Samui Island was about an hour on a small 2-propellor plane and as we approached the island many of the villages came into view. We checked into the Ibis Hotel and a bit disappointed after staying in Phuket Graceland with exceptional large rooms. Our room is relatively small, but we have a spectacular ocean and pool view.

Last moments in Phuket.
