Dalat December 7, 2018 Crazy Insects and Food

Today we took the Dalat Happy Tour to visit nearby attractions. We were picked up at our hotel at 8:30am and the first part of the tour was the waterfalls.

The second part of the tour was an opportunity to taste weird foods.

The silk warm

The worms eat Mulberry leaves

The cocoons are floated in water. The worker takes the thread of seven cocoons and the machine combines into one thread
The magets inside are dead and can be used as a food source.

The white silk threads are then dyed and the machines in the background used to make the fabric.

This is a cricket farm and an opportunity to taste roasted cricket. Q said they taste like chips.

Each bin holds crickets in various stages of growth

Llew-Anne and Julie enjoying a glass of rice wine. Both the cricket and weasel farms had a rice alcohol still.

Yes this is weasel poop, coffee beans

Weasels are nocturnal animals but this little guy popped his head up when he heard us.
The weasel farm had pets, dog, cat and python

Apparently he was resently fed a LIVE chicken. That is so cruel!
