This was a travel day - bus to Oporto. What a shock when we arrived. The last time we visited Oporto was 2013, and there were fewer tourists, but now the hotels are bursting, with 99% occupancy. That's why the hotel rates have increased by 50%. Off for a quick tour of the city - the restaurants are full and there are long lineups for boat tours. It's sad to think that this increased interest in Oporto may have something to do with the terrorist attacks and refugees in Germany, France, Turkey and Greece. Time to get out of town tomorrow and continue our trek. I would recommend staying in a hotel out of town close to the Camino.
The building architecture is amazing!
